Shri Devi Bhagwati Mandir, Ratnagiri


Shree Bhagawati Temple is one of the ancient temples in the state of Maharashtra. A magnificent temple located inside the mighty Ratnadurg Fort, Bhagwati Mandir is a famous pilgrim centre in Ratnagiri. It is around 3 KM from the city. Autos are available from the city to reach the fort and temple. The gate of the the fort will be closed at around 7pm. (Please confirm the timing before going there. A local autowala can guide you for this)

The deity is adorned beautifully and the temple architecture is marvelous. Other deities like 'Veer Vighnesh' & 'Ashtadashbhuj' Ganapati are unique for their sculptural works. This temple is visited by thousands of devotees during Navratri festival, which is one of the sacred festivals celebrated all over India. In Devi Bhagavati temple, Navarathri festival is celebrated with much enthusiasm and vigour and NINE DAYS yatra conducted as a part of the festival.

Situated on the shores of the Arabian sea, the temple is blessed with a calm and serene ambience that provides a divine feeling to the devotees. Must visit. ( This tourist place is covered by many TV programs in their Travel shows)
