The one of the most popular tourist place in the district is Ganpatipule. The mindblowing seashore ia the center of the attraction of the tourists.

Ratnagiri is a city situated on Mumbai-Goa National Highway. The city is extremly mind blowing, full of natural beauties. it also has historical, social, religious importance of its own. On the see shore their is a historical fort, Ratndurg having an entient temple of Godess Bhagavati. It is said that this temple has benn built by family-members of Kanhoji Angre, the famous Maratha Sardar. You can see gorgeous scene of the sea from here.

Ratnagiri is the birthplace of the great freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak,who attacked the entire British empire by roaring "Freedom is my birthright and I will get that." His centrally located birthplace in the city is protected by the State Govt. In that house there is his Pagadi, the first edition of his welknown magazine "Kesari" and many more of the things which he used usually.

Ambavade village of Mandangad Taluka has got a special importance. The village is the birthplace of the constructor of the Indian Constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. His residential place is developed as a monument.

Welknown freedom-fighter Vir Sawarkar had spent so much time of his fight against the British here in the Ratnagiri.

The king of Burma, Thiba was arrested and kept in the prison here in Ratnagiri. That place is known as "Thiba Point".

There is very beautiful temple of Lord Shiva called as Marleshwar, which is situated in the caves surounded by very high mountains.

World famous company Enron has installed a plant near Guhagar Tahsil. This project is known as Dabhol Project.

Tourists are more attracted to this region of konkan since Konkan Railway, which is well- organised & comfortable train service is started. The enlarging flow of the tourists from all over the world has proved this.
